A 3-track EP for KaleOverlord's Impressions Composing Jam #2. I decided to do three very different takes on one melodic idea. You could say I had to grasp into the far reaches of my abilities! Or maybe that it's a far reach to say these fit the theme!

The Far Reaches I - Long Dark
Dark and alien. Big bass drone. Bits of melody piercing through the blackness. A giant thrown-together effects return called "The Scrungler." The far reaches of space, or some such.

The Far Reaches II - Edge of Memory
Inspired by the vibe of the painting that inspired the jam. Late Night Animal Crossing vibes? Electric piano, (sampled) acoustic guitar, chintzy electronic drums. Hire me to score your game so I can not feel so dumb about owning a fretless acoustic bass guitar lmao.

The Far Reaches III - Break Through
I wanted something that builds up to something big and dense to contrast with the other two and it ended up being some kinda mutant prog-disco epic. I feel like this could be the end credits theme to some kind of sci-fi sports game - the far reaches of human potential. This one is my favorite and I also hate it and have missed so much sleep fiddling with it. I like the synth and e-piano trading leads, and the e-piano kinda turning into a synth at the end.
